Athletic Secretary Reports to: Athletic Director, RCHS Administrators, RCMS Administrators and Superintendent
Terms of Employment: 7 ½ Hours per day; 204 days per year Specific Hours per day and days per week may vary depending on work schedule and needs of the Athletic Department including nights and weekends
Major Purpose: To provide support and assistance to the Athletic Department and Administration in all daily activities, tasks, projects, and events.
Job Functions and Duties: This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of the following duties and other duties as assigned:
Event Functions:
Office Functions:
o Ticket Sales
o Sort Mail
o Deposit funds from Concessions and Gates
o Local banking as required
o Hiring Officials
o Website administration
o Scheduling Events
o Tournament and Invitational preparation
o Sports Facility set up and preparation
o Special Projects
o Screen visitors, emails, phone calls, etc.
o General Office Management
o Strong oral and written communication skills
o Ability to work in a positive way with students, parents, and community members.
o Knowledge of district regulations and guidelines for each event.
o Ability to lift, move, and set-up event equipment.
o Knowledge or ability to learn how to set-up and use sound system and scoreboards.
o Ability to work with coaches, officials, and administrators to assure a safe environment for participants and spectators.
o Ability to provide leadership that assures students and spectator safety in emergency situations.
o Sports Scheduling Software experience with Eventlink, IHSAA.net
o Computer proficiency with Microsoft Offices products.
Working Environment: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while preforming the essential functions of this job.
Event Supervisors will work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings depending on the event. Must be willing to work outdoors in inclement weather; may be required to lift, carry equipment, walk, and stand for prolonged periods; may be exposed to high noise levels and childhood diseases; and may experience a multitude of demands and changing priorities with frequent interruptions.
Experience: Experience working with students and community at athletic events required. Coaching experience preferred. Athletic Event management preferred.
